my dad smoked....he is dead. Died at 56
pwnd sounds like when I worked on the dorms----redo the same hall a few times and then you wonder, why exactly did I take this job again?
Drivers test....have taken it a bunch of times (when you move from one state to another you get to take the new states one---cause there is like one or two different laws....gets old after the 4th or 5th time), personally I believe that anyone over the age of 65 should have to take the driving portion of that test every other year---and at 75 every year (have you ever driven in florida???????)....Not planning on moving out of state again for a very long time.
monty....you got to keep the elite guru tag AND the underline with your new title??? sigh....never did get my underline----

Smoking cuts your life short sometimes. And it is very sad when it does.
Ya well we are "behind" so we shouldn't be redoing things that look fine after the first time. But whatever, I don't have a say in it...
Cosy just keeps getting jipped. oO
Well off to work... /sigh but I don't have to strip a floor anymore. Thank goodness...

Lol @ Azzer. It depends on the person smoking. Someone is always going to beat the odds. My grandfather smoked and drank for about thirty years. He quit a few years ago, and now he's in better shape than I am. How's that for the universe screwing you?
Mah bike! As requested.

Sexy bike! Just polished? looking good.
My Dad smokes and I always told him to quit and he did a couple of times but he's smoking again.
And I'm getting into it again too, but only on special occasions not like everyday.

Sweet bike man
And yeah, Katsumi, i know that some gets in better shape, but if he smoked AND was active at the same time, he would also getter in better shape, don't get me wrong here, i dislike smoking alot, but really, it's peoples own choice, let's say you develop a habbit, and some one suddenly forced you to stop it, wouldn't that make you feel a bit annoyed?
oh btw, my dad started smokiing when he was 47... he always says, Asbjørn, you should smoke to get those nerves settled, i'm like what the hell?? why should i start on something expensive that ruins not only your health, but also a lot of your social acquantinces and eceonomy.
another long post.... i should become an actor.

That's what's so aggravating about it though, Azzer. He had a desk job for most of his life. He didn't work out on a regular basis or eat healthy. He didn't try to be healthy, he didn't care.
He has no residual lung or heart damage. None. He smoked for at least 30 years. And no damage. It's ridiculous. And makes me angry a little. Lol.
It's people own decision though, that is true. If they want to smoke, there's nothing I can, or should, do about it.
Why does work have to be so slow? It makes me look like a lurker since I post so much...

It's easy to stop an addiction.... it's just because people are freaking lazy, same with me, i could easily lose/loose? some weight, i'm just to darn lazy to work for it, which is stupid.
Yeah some people are lucky, i've been sick since i was born (stomachache)
You call your work slow? i'm working from 14-23 PM this week, gotta take a test of beer every 3 hours, and that is it.....
Tht's nice _Hannes, was it hard? i didn'øt find it hard to not drink alcohol.

yes smoking is an addiction like any other...only difference is its legal in most countries.
when I was a kid my dad smoked lots.....if we had died and they would have done an autopsy you would have been hard pressed to figure out which one of us was the actual smoker! (second hand smoke is just as bad to the lungs!!)....but its been 24 years since he died and with some of the new laws here in the usa its getting harder to find places that allow smoking in public areas (hurrah!!!)....now if we could just get the cigarette makers to make something USEFUL ---like alternative fuels, we would have it made (I mean--they have one of the largest lobbies in our congress, just think if they put their muscle into our gas problem instead??????).
azzer I know about stomach problems---have had them for the last few years (with no good diagnosis yet)....and colon problems run in my family (both sides----mom has colon cancer, dad's mom died of colon cancer)...so I am doubly hexed!

Your job is testing beer? I hate you.
I just don't like being stuck in an office, waiting on people before I can really do anything. Gets old after awhile.
Plus, I keep getting this message, "You have reached the end of the internet..."

Yeah man, it was hard for me to stop smoking. It only started bugging me (that I wanted to quit smoking) in 2005 - 2006. (I started smoking full time in 1993 lol)
I tried all the "natural" remedies & old woman stories on "how to quit smoking" but nothing worked for me. Im the end I opted for a drug called "Zyban". Were on the meds for about 2½ weeks before my smoking reduced from the usual 20-30 per day, to 5-8 per day. If I remember correctly the last smoke I had was about 6 weeks after I started taking the meds. Continued with the drugs for 2 months (just in case the cravings came back). But yeah... It's almost been 2yrs since I last put a smoke to my lips
And yes, I still crave a smoke every now & again... But I'll never start again. I don't mind people smoking around me tho, it doesn't bother me - as long as u don't smoke in my car or in my room.

Same here. I can go for a year without a drink. But when I do go out, I go large

Hannes, that's not balanced, both needs to be full! hehe. Well i've been addicted to alcohol, aparently, you can't really see it yourself..
eah, at new years i drink whiskey and smoke cigars, it's a great occasion to do something "different".
About drugs, never did em never will, both my elder brothers been through abuse of it.
I smoke weed occasionally, like once every2-4months ,so it's not something special, and i never pay for it myself

Wow you guys make me sound like an angel... Never drank, smoke, or done drugs. Kinda crazy I know...
Nice bike Katsumi.
So I didn't have to strip the 5th grade hallway again today, thank goodness. Instead I got to strip a bathroom and that meant laying down stripper then waiting 20 mins before using a 3 inch razor blade to take up the wax. Mind you these are not small single bathrooms... they are about the size of half a classroom. It takes FOREVER and it's hotter then heck. But meh. My boss did tell me that he hopes I don't find a new job for next summer. oO Good to know I am seen as useful. lol
